BAF Shaeen College students express their commitment to keep society Tobacco & Drug free

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) and BAF Shaheen College, Dhaka, jointly organized an awareness program on tobacco control and anti-drug on 10 August 2017. A total of 270 students of class XI, 30 Scouts members and teachers of different departments of college were present in the event. Principal of BAF Shaheen College Group Capt. A.H.M Amirul Ahsan was present as Chief Guest.  Md. Mukhlesur Rahman, Assistant Director and Project Coordinator of DAM Tobacco control program delivered welcome speech.  In the open discussion the participants opined that they have learned a lot about   harms of tobacco use including different sections of tobacco control law like- definition of public places,  ban of sale to and by minors, fine and  punishment  for violation of TC law, harmful effects of drug abuse  and ways to keep them  tobacco and drug free. They also expressed their strong commitment that they will disseminate these learning’s with their family members as well as friends and will create awareness for keeping the society tobacco and drug free. In his speech the Chief Guest urged the students to be more aware on tobacco control and anti-drug issues and work for creating tobacco and drug free society. At the end of the program, Assistant Director and Project Coordinator of DAM Tobacco control program Md. Mukhlesur Rahman handed over the No Smoking Signage to the Principal of BAF Shaheen College. The event was organized with the assistance of Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK) and Lions Club of Dhaka Oasis
